(a cool breeze of an online arts publication)

to our contributors:

we don't need to be the people who "discovered" (ha) your masterpiece. if your work already exists elsewhere, we are happy to serve as a channel to it. we would prefer to conduct and publish an artist interview or to write a response, editorial or profile for these types of submissions, but are open to suggestions. we are happy to showcase you and the art forms you have poured yourself into, wherever they live. let us know who you are, what you've done and what it means to you. we'll be in touch about how we might be able to spread the word.

we're also over the moon about introducing unpublished work to our readers. send us your poems, essays, photos, paintings, projects, collages, comics, opinions, videos, illustrations, music, talents, designs (etc.) that need homes. we under no circumstances want to own your work - simultaneous submissions are fine and we hope you're able to share your work on multiple platforms. obviously, we require first publication rights for original work, as well as ongoing electronic archival rights for all work shared. depending on your medium, we may ask that you give us a shout out as the original publisher should your contribution find a home elsewhere, but we are flexible around this (and all things).

in terms of compensation, we currently aren't making any money so unfortunately you won't either. as artists ourselves, we'd like to pay you and are working on a sustainable model - more about that on our donations page. if at any time in the future we see a profit, contributors debuting their work through us will also.

we believe wholeheartedly in being good people. we will genuinely consider all content in all formats, so long as the narrative isn't oppressive. intersectional feminism is essential, black lives matter, trans rights are human rights, islamophobia is ignorance and colonialism is, for lack of a better word, fucked. this is a place for everyone and, more than that, this is a place to safely share fears and criticisms about, as well as the introspective effects of, the world we're living in.

we know you don't need a formal education in something to be good at it. when pitching us your submission, keep in mind that we respond to honest language, emotional bravery and engaging content. please do not send us a bio or resume - although we're proud of you if you're proud of you, we would like to maintain an inclusive, unbiased deliberation process. just tell us what you're sending and why you're sending it. we also don't care about formatting or length - whatever you want to send in whatever format is easiest for you. please
contact us via email to submit.

to follow up on your submission, please send a separate email. our inbox sorts via most recent communication, so replying to your original submission will push it to the end of the reading queue. we are happy to provide you with an approximate wait time - if you're curious, please send us a separate email with an obvious subject line. we reply to all submissions with personal responses, therefore wait times can be long (several months) during busy periods. please know that 1) you will absolutely hear back from us, whether we are able to publish your work or not and 2) we know that waiting sucks, but we promise to give your work the same thought and consideration that's causing the holdup when it's your turn. we really do value the love and care that goes into submissions and we appreciate your patience with us.
